California Education Code section 17540 provides that the Governing Board of a school district may sell any personal property or school supplies belonging to the district to any other school district or agency eligible under the federal surplus property law, without advertisement for or receipt of bids.
This is in accordance with District Administrative Regulation No. 3270 - Disposition of Surplus Personal Property. The surplus item has been reviewed by appropriate District staff and deemed unacceptable for current District use.
School sites and departments were notified of available surplus equipment prior to seeking the Board's approval for sale. High school band directors have signed off on this item as not usable for their programs.
